Project Background: 

UW's  Information Technology's Information Management Division is seeking a skilled project manager responsible to manage the CRM Planning and Proof of Concept Project (CRMP3). 

The CRMP3 project will design an approach to implementing Microsoft Dynamics CRM that addresses immediate CRM needs within current partners, including the Graduate School (Dynamics CRM solution), UW Advancement  (Dynamics CRM solution), and Undergraduate Admissions (third-party solution), while also taking into account emerging best practices and policies related to data management, integration architecture, security, and business continuity. Key elements of this project include:  Procurement and management of Microsoft Partner consulting, Institutional analysis and documentation, Student domain analysis, solution design and architecture, technical and functional proof of concepts, service management design and planning, and possible solution implementation.  Under the oversight of the Senior Program Manager for Student Information Systems, the CRMP3 Project Manager will have primary responsibility for facilitating internal and external teams in developing and executing project plans, identifying and escalating risks and issues, packaging up key messages and communications for sponsors, and managing external contractor engagements.

Project Scope of Work:
 
Provide overall project management throughout the project lifecycle and drive for results. Define and manage overall project scope, schedule and budget. Generate project status reports and stakeholder communications.  Implement project decision making structure and manage issue escalation.  Facilitate the resolution of issues within the project decision making structure. Create and implement project plans, communications plans, risk mitigation plans and other planning materials to support project execution and control activities. Identify and implement non-technical process improvements as well as technical solutions.  Ensure that project plans and approaches are guided by the overall UW enterprise architecture guiding principles.
 
Manage procurement and engagement with external contractors. Act as primary liaison for external partner Project Managers, with responsibility for maintaining clear boundaries, expectations for deliverables, and a shared understanding of project health and status.
 
The Project Manager will need to build effective working relationships with project team members and key stakeholders in a matrix management environment.  The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and effectively coordinating the work of resources working collaboratively from following organizations:
 
•          Seattle, Bothell, and Tacoma Undergraduate Admissions:  Product Owner, analyst and subject matter experts
•          The Graduate School:  IT Director and technical team
•          UW Advancement:  IT Director and technical team
•          UWIT Application Integration Services:  Web service, web application and workflow developers
•          UWIT Student Information Systems:  Student system owners, student information domain experts
•          UWIT Enterprise Application and Integration Services:  Quality Assurance, database administration
•          UWIT Identity and Access Management:  System owners for UW’s application authorization system 

Business Analysis: 
 
Understand and document complex business issues, develop business case and option analysis documentation, work with UW-IT stakeholders to develop service management approach, including support models and cost models. 
 
The Project Manager will work on-site at the UW and have a work schedule of Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm.  Additional work hours may be requested if required to meet project deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
 
Candidate Qualifications - Candidate must demonstrate the following qualifications:
 
Minimum Requirements:

•          Bachelor’s Degree, or comparable work experience, in Communications, Information Science, Business Administration or related field.
•          Minimum of 4 years experience leading collaborative projects within a team environment.
•          Minimum of 4 years of experience performing progressively more complex tasks in information and technical management activities, and basic understanding of the underlying technologies.

Additional Qualifications:

•          Experience in project and software development lifecycles and corresponding tools such as issue tracking systems, configuration management systems, requirements management systems and project management systems.
•          Experience managing outside contractors and vendors
•          Experience managing enterprise level business application efforts that require participation and buying from diverse end-user populations
•          Proven ability to facilitate decision making in the context of distributed leadership and competing interests.
•          Ability to speak and write about technical issues for both technical and non-technical audiences.
•          Strong communication and team building skills.
•          Ability to perform as liaison between units, divisions, and other organizations as required to achieve objectives; ability to develop efficient procedures and control mechanisms.
 
Desired Qualifications:

•          Previous experience implementing or working with CRM solutions, particularly Microsoft Dynamics CRM
•          PMP Certification
•          Experience in a research university or large enterprise.

Describe  experience and qualifications, especially with respect to performing work similar to the work described in this Work Request. Include relevant experience the firm has previously had or been involved in with similar engagements.
