Summary: This document provides an overview of the scorecards that are included in the Monitoring Server Samples file.
This documentation is updated on a regular basis. To obtain the most current version, go to PerformancePoint Server on Microsoft Office Online (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=96771).
This document is an overview of the scorecards that are in the Monitoring Server Samples application, which is included with Microsoft® Office PerformancePoint™ Server 2007. Use the files in the Sample Scorecards folder to familiarize yourself with the variety of scorecards and key performance indicators (KPIs) that you can create by using PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer.
All sample scorecards use fixed-values data sources, so they do not require connections to external data. You can view the sample scorecards in Dashboard Designer and deploy them to dashboards. Either way, you can use the sample scorecards to explore the capabilities of PerformancePoint Monitoring Server.
Sample application files and data are on the product CD. After you browse the product CD and locate the .msi file, run it on the computer on which you plan to install the sample application and data files. To view the sample data, including the scorecards that are described in this document, follow the instructions that are provided in the next section.
This section contains a description and screen image for the sample scorecards that are available in the Sample Scorecards folder. The sample scorecards are listed in this document by their file names in the Sample Scorecards folder.
To open a sample scorecard, use the following procedure:
- In Dashboard Designer, click the Microsoft Office button, and then click Open.
- Browse to the folder that contains the sample scorecards. (The default location for the sample files is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007\3.0\Samples\Sample Scorecards).
- Click a scorecard name to select it, and then click OK.
- Click the Home tab, and then click Refresh All. The scorecard you selected is now available in the Dashboard Designer workspace for you to view, edit, or deploy. To see the scorecards as they are displayed in this document, click the Editor tab in the workspace.
