The Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite, a part of Microsoft Online Services, delivers enterprise-class communications and collaboration software as subscription services to businesses of all sizes, hosted by Microsoft Corp. and sold with partners. The offering, designed for customers with managed IT needs, includes stand-alone services such as Microsoft Exchange Online with Microsoft Exchange Hosted Filtering, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft Office Communications Online and Microsoft Office Live Meeting.
The Business Productivity Online Deskless Worker Suite is a low-cost solution designed to meet the needs of workers who typically spend a small portion of their workday using a computer but still need to communicate and collaborate with colleagues and partners. The Business Productivity Online Deskless Worker Suite includes Exchange Online Deskless Worker and SharePoint Online Deskless Worker.

The Business Productivity Online Suite includes the following services:
· Microsoft Exchange Online (with Exchange Hosted Filtering)is a hosted enterprise messaging and calendaring solution based on Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. Customer benefits include improved e-mail security, remote and mobile access to e-mail, and enhanced operational efficiency for IT staff.
· Microsoft SharePoint Online provides businesses with a central location where employees can collaborate, find organizational resources, monitor content, manage workflow and quickly access information. Employees can create project-focused intranet sites to facilitate teamwork and document sharing.
· Microsoft Office Communications Online allows customers to take advantage of industry-leading instant messaging and presence capabilities without hiring support staff to manage an infrastructure or server hardware. The solution helps employees stay productive by enabling them to seamlessly communicate with others in different locations or time zones.
· Microsoft Office Live Meeting is an enterprise-class hosted webconferencing service that engages audiences in online meetings, training sessions and events.
The Business Productivity Online Deskless Worker Suite includes the following services:
· Exchange Online Deskless Worker provides e-mail, calendars, global address lists, and anti-virus and anti-spam filters, as well as Microsoft Outlook Web Access Light for access to company e-mail.
· SharePoint Online Deskless Worker provides easy access to SharePoint portals, team sites and search functionality, giving employees read-only access to important information such as company policies, training and benefits.
Standard and Dedicated Options
The Business Productivity Online Suite, the Business Productivity Online Deskless Worker Suite and their stand-alone services are available as both standard and dedicated offerings.
· The standard version is designed for businesses of all sizes that want rapid service adoption and a general administrative console. Standard services are deployed using a multi-tenant architecture, as each server or box in the datacenter can support multiple customers.
· The dedicated versionis designed for businesses with 5,000 seats or more, and offers support for specific types of federated identity and SharePoint customizations. Each customer has its own server or box within the datacenter.
Availability, Pricing and Licensing
Today, businesses of all sizes can purchase the Business Productivity Online Suite, the Business Productivity Online Deskless Worker Suite and their stand-alone services.
The standard version of the Business Productivity Online Suite is available from Microsoft for $10 U.S./€8.52/£6.69 per user, per month — a 40 percent discount off the stand-alone services.1 Separately, the Business Productivity Online Deskless Worker Suite is available for $3 U.S./€2.56/£2.01 per user, per month.
The pricing breakdown for standard stand-alone services is the following:2
· $5 U.S./€4.26/£3.35 per user, per month for Exchange Online
· $5.25 U.S./€4.47/£3.51 per user, per month for SharePoint Online
· $2 U.S./€1.70/£1.34 per user, per month for Office Communications Online
· $4.50 U.S./€3.83/£3.01 per user, per month for Office Live Meeting

Dedicated services are sold on a per-user, per-month basis, and pricing varies depending on the volume of users.
Microsoft licenses services via a User Subscription License (USL). Similar to the client access license, this USL is required for each specific user that accesses the online services, but is licensed on a per-user, per-month subscription basis. USLs include rights to the latest software updates and upgrades for the Business Productivity Online Suite, the Business Productivity Online Deskless Worker Suite and their stand-alone services, provided that customers are current on their subscription.
